There are many recreational cross country ski opportunities for people in Minnesota. Within an hour's drive of Minneapolis/St. Paul there are over 1000KM of ski trails. In addition to these trails there are over 2000KM of ski trails in greater Minnesota.

The North Star Ski Touring Club , in existence since 1967, provides many opportunities for the recreational cross country skier. From lessons and clinics to day outings and weekend trips to regional and international vacations the club has something for everyone. With over 1100 household memberships and 1500 members the North Star Ski Touring Club is the largest XC ski club in North America and is based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
